Q:
I have gum disease (periodontal disease). Can you save my teeth?
A:
In most cases we can save your teeth. It is always nice to keep your own teeth. If needed we can put new bone in the area to strengthen your teeth once again.
Gum disease affects all support tissues (bone, ligaments and gums). Your teeth tend to move seperate and fall when you have gum disease. We case replace your lost or weakened bone using several types of bone from synthetic, animal and human demineralized bone (treated and distributed by American labs) to grafting of your own bone.

Q:
What are veneers and what are they used for?
A:
A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain. We use it to shape, color, close gaps, straighten teeth, and make your apperance glow. Once the veneer is in place the results are beautiful teeth with a natural apperance.
Q:
Do you still used silver fillings?
A:
No. It has been a long time, thirteen to fifteen years, since we have used sliver fillings. Silver fillings do not adhere, they expand, break, and contain mercury which is toxic. We use the latest resin fillings which adhere microscopicly (mechanically) and chemically, seal better, and have superior apperance.
Mercury is toxic to your nervous system and is a predesponing factor for cancer. It has also been linked by the Neurologist Pediatric to a higher incidence of autism in new borns. Mercury also causes the silver fillings to expand and crack the tooth over time.

We also do adult orthodontics as long as you have healthy support tissues.

A:

Q:
My total plates jump out and hurt. Is there a solution?
A:
Yes there is. Most of the time the plates are not settled correctly, or there are areas where they pressure the bone unevenly. They might not even have enough ridge support. So there are different solutions. We might adjust your old plates for them to work correctly. Or we might put anchors to the bone so the plates are fixed and you can take a bite out of corn on the cob, apples or steak.

Q:
Do you do implants?
A:
Yes. We've been doing implants for more than fifteen years. And it's a very comfortable solution when you have lost teeth. Because dental implants are securely anchored your dentures, bridge and crowns will never move out of place.
Q:
What is an implant and how does it work?
A:
An implant is a small "anchor" made of titanium inserted into the jaw bone to take the place of your missing tooth root.
The new tooth looks, feels, and performs just like your natural teeth.

When you don't have the correct size, shape, color and position we can change and redesign it. And if your lips or gums don't show in the proportion that they should we can do plastic surgery to correct it.
